Pike’s botched execution: Letters to the Editor — Oct. 5, 2026

The Issue: Tennessee’s two-time failed execution of convicted murderer Christa Pike.

Convicted murderer Christa Pike survived a botched execution (“Injected new life into killer,” Oct. 2).

She should now be electrocuted. This heinous human being lured an innocent young girl into the woods. There, she cut her up with a box cutter, beat her with a meat cleaver, then repeatedly slashed her throat while the victim pleaded for her life.

Her victim won’t marry or have children. Let justice be done ASAP.

Saul Mishaan

Brooklyn

Christa Pike’s crime was barbaric, but the punishment was, too.

It seems the ancient legal principle — “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” — was applied in this case. Now that the injectors failed to execute her, perhaps it becomes a case of misfeasance.

This death sentence needs to be revoked. After all, she’s spent over 30 years in prison and survived two execution attempts. Others have committed multiple murders and were not executed.

Frank Brady

Yonkers

No matter how horrible and satanic the crime Christa Pike committed, why did they wait 25 years before attempting to execute her?

And with assisted suicide now being a leading cause of death in Canada, why not import a few of the administrators of the Canadian program to perform our lethal injections?

Clearly, they know what they’re doing.

Daniel Hodge

Union, NJ

A convicted murderer on death row is miraculously saved and rushed to the hospital where live-saving measures are keeping her alive.

What’s more, there are unapologetic people who now want her sentence to be commuted. Is she less guilty simply because an inadequate system bungled her execution?

Bob Ory

Chicago

What about the electric chair to execute Christa Pike? A firing squad? Poison? Or maybe a meat cleaver like she used on her victim, 19-year-old Colleen?

The poor mother still hasn’t seen her daughter’s killer put to death.

This should have been done 30 years ago.

The Issue: The release of five men accused of plotting a terror attack on a British base used by the US Air Force.

The United Kingdom has become a playground for Islamist terrorists (“UK’s Suicide Pact With Terrorists,” Brendan O’Neill, PostOpinion, Sept. 29).

If not for an alert farmer, these terrorists would have bombed a British air base the US Air Force was using.

The terrorists were released on bail despite the seriousness of these charges — terrorism and explosives offenses.

The United Kingdom is a joke when it comes to law-enforcement. These guys should not be allowed on the streets. The farmer who notified the authorities should be decorated by King Charles for her bravery.

Gary Acerra

Staten Island

Islamic immigration brought money and investment to the United Kingdom and now we see it allowing terrorists in, protecting them with citizenship and letting them off easy.

The Bank of England plans to remove former Prime Minister Winston Churchill from its currency, despite him being one of the UK’s finest.

And as American universities welcome in multibillion-dollar donations from Islamists, we’re now seeing attacks against Jews around the country.

Imagine the dismay of immigrants escaping authoritarianism when they realize the things they left behind followed them.
