EXCLUSIVE: Get ready as Disney turns up the loudspeakers for 20th Century Studios’ James Cameron threequel, Avatar: Fire and Ash, with a global premiere rollout that kicks off in Hollywood on Monday, Dec. 1 at the Dolby Theater.

The third installment to the 4x Oscar winning, 13 Oscar nominated, $5.3 billion grossing franchise is this year’s Christmas tentpole, opening on Dec. 19.
Paris has been chosen for the European premiere on Dec. 5 at La Seine Musicale, which will be transformed for the first time ever for a premiere event. For the occasion, the venue will feature state-of-the-art projection technology for visual realism taking the world of Pandora to a whole new immersive level.

The partners for Avatar: Fire and Ash‘s global tour include Dolby, Meta, Enterprise, and Coca-Cola. Awards screenings for voting groups will be held simultaneously across the world.
The first Avatar released in 2009 remains the highest grossing movie of all-time at $2.92 billion with a domestic take of $785.2M (the fourth highest grossing movie of all-time stateside). Avatar received Oscar nominations for best picture, directing, editing, score, sound mixing, and editing, and won for cinematography, visual effects, and art direction. The film was also honored with Golden Globe Awards for best motion picture (drama) and best director.
Thirteen years later, in 2022, Avatar: The Way of Water opened and went on to become the third highest grossing movie ever at the global box office with $2.34 billion. The pic earned four Oscar nominations including best picture and won for an Oscar for best achievement in visual effects.

In Avatar: Fire and Ash, Jake and Neytiri’s family grapple with grief after Neteyam’s death. They encounter a new, aggressive Na’vi tribe, the Ash People, who are led by the fiery Varang, as the conflict on Pandora escalates and a new moral focus emerges.
Last night at Deadline’s Sound & Screen concert, audiences heard an exclusive performance from Avatar: Fire and Ash‘s score from composer Simon Franglen.
