Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.

Dems Clean Up

Democrats celebrated several notable wins after Tuesday’s elections. Major victories include governor races in Virginia and New Jersey, a major ballot initiative in California, and the mayoral contest in New York City.

Jimmy Kimmel was happy with the results, saying “we needed a big night.”

“Democrats have had fewer wins this year than the Jets.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“Yep, for Democrats, it was a night of celebration. They dropped so many balloons, everyone’s hair looked like Bernie Sanders’.” — JIMMY FALLON

“The only other way for Democrats to be this happy is if they opened up a Trader Joe’s inside a Whole Foods.” — JIMMY FALLON

“They won big races on the East Coast, they won the little ones in the South. In New York City, Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor with more than 50 percent of the vote, which means your racist aunt and uncle have a new name to mispronounce this Thanksgiving.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“Today, Democrats are walking around with a spring in their step like a divorced mom in her 40s whose new haircut just got her carded at two different bars.” — STEPHEN COLBERT

“It was the best day for Democrats since they put ‘Hamilton’ on Disney+.” — SETH MEYERS

“And none of it — none of it — could’ve been achieved without the work of Democratic strategist, Donald Trump. Tip of the cap to you, sir.” — SETH MEYERS

“Everything he touched was a loser. Trump hasn’t been this embarrassed since he found out there was a Donald Trump Jr.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“Let’s just say for Trump, it was a huge kick in the ballroom.” — JIMMY FALLON

“Trump lost every key New Jersey demographic: guys in track suits, moms at the outlet malls, and the entire cast of the ‘Jersey Shore.’” — SETH MEYERS

The Punchiest Punchlines (Mayor Mamdani Edition)

“Today, tourists in Midtown had the option of taking a photo: Times Square Elmo or Times Square Cuomo.” — JIMMY FALLON

“Yep, Mamdani is just 34 years old. Yeah. We’ve had subway delays last longer than that. Thirty-four years. We’ve had government shutdowns longer than that.” — JIMMY FALLON

“That’s right, 34-year-old Zohran Mamdani is set to become the youngest mayor of New York City in more than a century, and somehow still more mature than the last guy.” — SETH MEYERS

The Bits Worth Watching

Jennifer Lawrence, a star of “Die My Love,” played a game of “Mute!” with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday’s “Tonight Show.”

What We’re Excited About on Thursday Night

The rock icon Patti Smith will sit for an interview with Stephen Colbert and perform a song on Thursday’s “Late Show.”

Also, Check This Out

A musical stage adaptation of “Girl, Interrupted,” from the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok and the singer-songwriter Aimee Mann, is coming to The Public Theater.
