The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall of ice cream bars that were sold across several states, including Pennsylvania.

According to a release shared by the FDA, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. is recalling a limited number of its Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Dark Chocolate Mini Bars because they may contain undeclared wheat.

The recalled bars were sold in 6-count packages with batch code LLA519501 and a Best By date of January 31, 2027.

These affected products were shipped to two retail stores, Kroger and Giant Eagle, in the following states:

  • Kroger: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming
  • Giant Eagle: Indiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia

There have been no injuries or illnesses reported because of the undeclared wheat, according to the FDA. No other Häagen-Dazs products are affected by this recall.

“Although our investigation is ongoing, we believe products containing wheat were repacked into the incorrect packaging at the beginning of a production run,” the company said in its recall notice.

If you have a wheat allergy or a sensitivity to wheat, you are advised not to eat the ice cream bars impacted by the recall. Instead, the notice says you should throw them away or return them to the store for a full refund.

Customers can email Dreyer’s at [email protected] for further questions or concerns.
