EXCLUSIVE: Carly Hoogendyk, the manager and producer from Omnipop Talent Group West, has set the lineup for the latest edition of her Newcomers comedy showcase, taking place at the Bell House in Brooklyn, as part of the New York Comedy Festival, on November 8.
A rapid-fire comedy showcase for rising acts in its 11th year, Newcomers will this year highlight both repped and unrepped acts including Danya Trommer, James Mwaura, Ryan Thomas, Erik Martini, Sunny Laprade, Haley Stiel, Max Higgins, Rahul Pandya, Charlie Flynn, Max St. John, Carolina Montesquieu, Alexis Bradby, Stella Webb, Gracie Hirsch and Connor Meade.
The showcase will be taped for both Veeps and Punchup Live, the discovery platform connecting entertainers with comedy fans, and will premiere there November 17. It’ll also be available to stream on YouTube.
Bart Coleman, Veeps’ Head of Comedy, told us, “VEEPS is passionate about supporting the next wave of emerging stand-up talent. We’re happy to partner with Carly and her team to curate this fantastic lineup.”
Established in 2021 as a showcase for NYC-based comics, Newcomers has since spotlighted 150 comics — many of whom have connected with representation and gone on to successful early careers in writing and performing comedy. Produced by Hoogendyk — a passionate advocate for emerging comics — and booked via open and rolling submissions, the program expanded in early 2025, adding one yearly showcase in Los Angeles in the spring, in addition to the Brooklyn show in the fall.
Tickets to the Newcomers showcase are available for purchase on Ticketmaster now. This year’s New York Comedy Festival runs from November 7-16.
