EXCLUSIVE: Busy Philipps (Girls5eva, Cougar Town), Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty, For All Mankind), and Alfredo Narciso (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Manifest) have been set as guest stars in NBC‘s new comedy Stumble, from Jeff and Liz Astrof.
Stumble, which has a mockumentary style, will follow Happy’s Place on Fridays as part of two comedy blocks that the network is airing this fall. The show premieres on November 7 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Stumble centers on Courteney Potter (Jenn Lyon), who is determined to rally her newly recruited junior college cheer squad to win her record-breaking 15th championship and improve their lives along the way.
Philipps will play Vicky. Although she is looking to be on the “hard side of 40,” she is, in fact, barely old enough to drink. Gregarious and fun-loving, with a whisky and cigarette voice, Vicky is Peaches’ (Taylor Dunbar) 20-year-old sister and the person who raised her.
Kaufman as Holden, an extremely shy college football player with a crush on Sally (Georgie Murphy).
Narciso as Krystal’s (Anissa Borrego) dad. Much like Krystal’s mother, he serves as part manager and part CEO of Krystal Enterprises.
The single-cam comedy also stars Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, and Arianna Davis. Kristin Chenoweth is set to recur. Previously announced guest stars include Jeff Hiller, Ashlie Atkinson and Dascha Polanco.
In addition to the Astrof siblings, executive producers include Dana Honor, Monica Aldama, and Jeff Blitz, who also directs. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
Philipps is repped by Range Media Partners and Gang Tyre Ramer; Kaufman is repped by CESD, Untitled Entertainment and JTWAMM. Narciso is repped by Harden Curtis Kirsten Riley Agency and Robert Stein Management.
