PHOENIX – Halloween might be a time for chills, but Phoenix-area trick-or-treaters won’t have to worry about scary weather on Friday.

The Halloween forecast calls for clear skies highs and in the middle to upper 80s, with temperatures dipping steadily as darkness descends on the Valley.

“If you’re out in the sun, especially in the evening, before the sun goes down, it will feel a little bit warmer than normal,” Matt Salerno of the National Weather Service in Phoenix told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday morning. “But once we get that nighttime, the temperatures will cool off pretty rapidly since we’re so dry out there.”

What’s in the metro Phoenix Halloween forecast?

Salerno said temperatures will be in the lower 80s when trick-or-treaters start heading out around 5 or 6 p.m. and drop into the 70s as the night progresses, ideal conditions for haunted house visits and other Halloween festivities.

“This is a little bit warmer than usual right now,” he added. “We’re running about 5 to 8 degrees above normal for this time of the year.”

Valley residents and visitors can expect more of the same throughout the weekend, with sunny skies, highs in the upper 80s and lows in the lower 60s.

KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Colton Krolak contributed to this report.
