A man who was found dead under an overpass in the Inland Empire after a hit-and-run has yet to be identified months later.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reissued a statement Wednesday saying that the body of the man was found just after 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 15 underneath the 15 Freeway’s Foothill Boulevard overpass in Rancho Cucamonga.

Arriving deputies located the man’s body and determined that it had been struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the months since the man’s death, SBSD has been unable to identify him, but they have released details surrounding his description:

  • 25-35 years old
  • 5 feet, 3 inches tall
  • 129 pounds
  • Black hair, mustache and chin hair
  • Has tattoo of a “Playboy” bunny shape on his left wrist

The man was wearing a denim jacket, a sweatshirt, a black t-shirt and black denim jeans when he was found, SBSD said.

There was no information included in the deputies’ statement indicating a person connected to the hit-and-run was ever located or charged.

Anyone with information about the identity of the deceased male is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Division at 909-387-2978 and reference case number 702505469.
