Fox Sports aired a special tribute to Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, and it was narrated by a familiar voice.

It was none other than legendary rapper and actor Ice Cube.

The Los Angeles native posted the nearly three-minute tribute to Kershaw on social media during Game 4 of the World Series.

The video shows highlights of the 37-year-old’s career, as muralist Jonas Nevers is seen painting all of his achievements into a beautiful work of art.

“It’s the only position in sports for which we build a pedestal. Dare to climb that mountain of dirt, and it can be your greatest summit or your Heartbreak Hill,” Cube, born O’Shea Jackson, said as he started off the tribute. “Like a work of art, Clayton Kershaw stood tall on that pedestal, a monument to power and precision for 18 years.”

“Three Cy Young awards, one MVP, a no-hitter, a triple crown, five ERA titles, two World Series titles, more than 3000 strikeouts,” the “Friday” star explained. “Like the golden lights on the San Gabriel, Kershaw became a fixture of Dodger Stadium.”

Cube noted that it wasn’t Kershaw’s technique wasn’t “what he threw, but what was behind every pitch.”

“There were many late afternoons when Kershaw would work in the sun-drenched bullpen to perfect his artistry, so that when he climbed that mound, he would repeat his delivery flawlessly, swung,” he said. “It happened not by accident. It happened in the same way Kershaw became the toughest pitcher to beat in the history of the game. With an iron wheel that never wavered.”

Kershaw, who played 18 seasons with the Dodgers, is retiring at the end of the season.
