A 19-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the murder of a man in San Bernardino County.
The suspect was identified as Lorens Cota, 19, of Bloomington, according to the Colton Police Department.
On Oct. 27, police responded to a possible shooting near North Rancho Avenue and West Valley Boulevard in Colton at around 12:36 p.m.
Officers found the victim, Armando Andrez Cayetano, 40, of San Bernardino, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation had occurred “during which the victim sustained fatal injuries, police said in a statement. “Following the altercation, the suspect fled the scene.”
Detectives later identified Cota as a suspect in the victim’s death. Later that day, Cota was located and arrested for homicide. He remains in custody without bail.
No further details, including whether the suspect and victim were known to each other, were released.
