The chase ended at Country Club Drive and John Sinn Road in Rancho Mirage, where the rider drove through a red light and collided with another vehicle in the intersection. Deputies and paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.
The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
