That’s a wrap — erm, rip — on the Academy Museum Gala 2025 red carpet!

On Wednesday, Cara Delevingne shared a “gala dump” on Instagram from the big Oct. 18 event in Los Angeles, getting candid about what goes on behind the scenes to get camera-ready looks just right.

The British model, 33, made an appearance at the star-studded event in a sparkly Tamara Ralph Couture gown, which photographed beautifully on the carpet.

Unfortunately, the gown ripped moments before Delevingne was set to appear. Fortunately, stylist John Mumblo was on hand with his sewing kit, ready to save the day.

“Scroll through to reveal the truth behind the glitz and glamour,” the L’Oreal spokeswoman cheekily captioned her post.

A video shows the model barefoot on the pavement, toe separators still in, while Mumblo got on his knees to mend a large tear in the back of the dress, literally sewing Delevingne into the dress while en route.

Several fans were more focused on the model’s makeup for the evening, wondering if she’d made changes to her signature bold brows. Instagram/caradelevingne

While most commentators focused on her soft makeup and pouty lips, it was the rip — and Mumblo’s calm under pressure — that made the bigger impact.

Upon closer inspection, evidence of the stylist’s quick work is visible in pictures from the evening. However, it did not detract from the beauty of the floral-embellished gown, nor diminish Delevingne’s spirits.

For those who want to learn the tricks behind all the glitz and glamour?

Well, there aren’t any.

It’s pure talent and preparation.

Which is all to say, thank you — we see and appreciate you — to everyone behind the scenes that makes these picture-perfect moments possible for everyone to enjoy.

It’s nice to know that Delevingne does, too.
