NORFOLK, Va. — Embattled New York Attorney General Letitia James’ “fugitive” grandniece, who is at the center of her federal mortgage fraud case, was hit with a criminal charge Thursday — two weeks after she allegedly threatened her kid’s assistant principal and called her a “bald-headed bitch.”
Nakia Thompson, 36, was charged with profane, threatening, or indecent language over public airways, a misdemeanor, in a Norfolk, VA court, according to court records.
While the details around the criminal charge were not immediately clear, the offense date was Oct. 9 — the same day Thompson allegedly went on a tirade against Lindenwood Elementary School assistant principal Marie Hall.
She allegedly hurled a series of insults and threats over the phone and in-person toward the administrator, including calling her a “bald-headed bitch” and claiming she was going to slap her in the face, according to a protective order request Hall leveled against James’ relative.
Thompson is living in the Norfolk, VA home purchased by James in 2020 that is under a criminal microscope by the Department of Justice.
Prosecutors have alleged James committed mortgage fraud when purchasing the house, though New York’s chief law enforcement officer has denied wrongdoing.
Thompson is also officially listed as an “absconder” who is wanted by authorities in Forsyth County, North Carolina, for failing to finish her probation on misdemeanor convictions for assault and battery, and trespassing, according to the state Department of Corrections.
