Almost two years ago, we published a questionnaire asking readers to share their electric bills to help us report on rising prices across the country.

Well, prices are still going up. And we continue to cover it.

We’re New York Times reporters who write about all facets of energy, including the companies that provide it and how people and businesses use it. In recent months we’ve written about the effect of rates on the New Jersey governor’s race; the continued growth in American renewable energy despite the Trump administration’s opposition; and how home solar panels may be able to help the nation’s energy grid.

To continue this work, we need your help. We want to see your recent utility bills and hear how they are affecting you. That will give us a better perspective on the rising rates, as opposed to just how companies and governments see the big picture.

We’ll read through every response to this questionnaire, and may contact you to learn more about your story and possibly include it in an upcoming article. We won’t publish any part of your response without first following up with you. And we won’t share your contact information outside the Times newsroom or use it for any purpose other than to reach out to you.

Ivan Penn is a reporter based in Los Angeles and covers the energy industry. His work has included reporting on clean energy, failures in the electric grid and the economics of utility services.

Rebecca F. Elliott covers energy for The Times.
