Travis Kelce, a self-described “lifelong Six Flags fan,” is now an investor in the company.
JANA Partners, a New York City-based investment firm, announced that it is working with the Super Bowl Champion and other business executives to “enhance shareholder value and improve the guest experience” at Six Flags theme parks.
“I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends,” Kelce said in a statement. “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”
Together, the group of investors owns about 9% of economic interest in the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
Kelce also shared the news on TikTok with a video featuring a compilation of family vacation clips to Cedar Point, a theme park in Ohio owned by Six Flags.
Six Flags also operates Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park and Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia.
The announcement follows a series of changes for the amusement park company.
In August, the company announced CEO Richard Zimmerman’s plan to step down by the end of the year following a bleak second quarter.
In May, it was announced that Six Flags America in Maryland would close after 25 years following its 2025 season.
Then in June, reports surfaced that California’s Great America could be approaching its final chapter.
