PHOENIX — The US 60 in Wickenburg will be affected by a sidewalk and improvement project that is expected to start later this month, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT has not yet released the exact date for when the project will begin, but said the work will take place on the highway between Vulture Mine Road and US 93.

According to the traffic authority, the purpose of the project is to improve existing sidewalks, sidewalk ramps, curbs, gutters and driveways to comply with federal Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements.

How will the improvement project affect the US 60?

ADOT said that construction is expected to take place Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. and does not anticipate work being done on Fridays or holidays.

  • Construction to begin on State Route 187 improvement project to reduce congestion

When the work is being done, each direction of the highway will be reduced to one lane of travel.

Businesses will be notified about driveway construction before it begins, ADOT said.

The traffic authority recommended that drivers plan for possible delays when work is being done and asked motorists to be cautious of construction personnel and equipment.

According to ADOT, the project costs $850,000 and is expected to be complete by early spring 2026.
