Sherman Oaks will come alive this Sunday, Oct. 19, as the annual Sherman Oaks Street Fair celebrates its 33rd year with free admission from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Ventura Boulevard, between Kester Avenue and Van Nuys Boulevard. The event, billed as the largest single-day festival in the San Fernando Valley, attracts between 50,000 and 100,000 attendees each year, according to the fair’s official website.

Visitors can experience live music, carnival rides, food vendors, and a mix of local shops and cultural crafts. The main stage will host continuous entertainment throughout the day, including a headline performance by American Idol Season 7 finalist David Hernandez from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Other confirmed acts include ROKO, Amber Sauer, and Angelica Nero. The main stage will also feature host Julian Miranda and DJ FasTrak, who will spin between performances.

A community stage will showcase local student talent, with over a dozen scheduled performances by elementary, middle, and high schools.

Adults over 21 can enjoy the Cham-BAR, an outdoor cocktail lounge formed by four local Sherman Oaks bars: Buvette, Islands Restaurants, The Local Peasant, and The Oaks Tavern.

For families, the street fair offers a carnival with rides and attractions, including a Ferris Wheel, Amazon Zip Line, Pirate’s Revenge Swing, Sorcerer’s Castle Bounce House, and the Rugged Warrior Obstacle Course. New this year are carnival games such as Milk Jug Softball Toss, Milk Bottle Baseball Throw, Balloon Dart Pop, and Roller Bowler.

Animal lovers can visit the pet zone, where local adoption agencies and nonprofits — including Callies Canine Rescue, Concerned Citizens Animal Rescue, Los Angeles Animal Services, Pawsitive Beginnings, Rover’s Retreat, and SoCal Golden Retriever Rescue — will offer adoptions and showcase community resources for pets.

Food trucks and booths will serve a diverse array of street foods, fusion dishes, and international flavors, while retail and cultural craft vendors will offer handmade goods, artisanal crafts, and unique finds. Attendees can also participate in interactive experiences, photo opportunities, and meet-and-greet sessions with local organizations and nonprofits.
