A suspect was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting outside a grocery store in Riverside.
The suspect was identified as Edgar Rivera, 27, of Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside Police Department.
On Oct.13, police responded to a shooting at a grocery store parking lot in the 9200 block of Magnolia Avenue around 4:22 p.m.
Officers found the victim, Luis Gonzalez, 27, of Perris, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspect were known to each other. For reasons still under investigation, Rivera fatally shot Gonzalez in front of the store, police said.
Rivera remained at the scene where he was arrested for murder. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center, where he is being held on $2 million bail.
No further details, including the circumstances leading up to the deadly incident, were released.
