EXCLUSIVE: James Badge Dale (The Pacific), Matty Matheson (The Bear), and Imogen Poots (All of You) are new additions to October, writer-director Jeremy Saulnier’s Halloween fugitive thriller for A24, which is producing and financing, with production now underway.

Plot and character details for the film remain under lock and key. As previously announced, Cory Michael Smith leads the cast, which also features Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, Stanley Simons, Young Mazino and Stephen Root.

Rich Peete is producing for Neighborhood Watch, alongside Eli Bush for Central, as well as Jeremy Saulnier and Skei Saulnier for Niteowl Films.

Recently, Dale has been seen starring in series like Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy and Hightown, as well as films like King Ivory and The Senior. Perhaps best known for work on the shows 24 and The Pacific, he’s also been seen in films like Only the Brave, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, World War Z, Flight and The Departed. He previously worked with Saulnier on 2018’s Hold the Dark and is represented by CAA, MJ Management, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

First garnering recognition for his work as a chef and restaurateur, Matheson is now best known for his role as Neil Fak on FX’s The Bear, where he’s also an executive producer. He is repped by WME, Cassoulet Palace Inc., and Nixon Peabody.

Previously working with Saulnier on 2015’s Green Room, Poots will next be seen in Nia DaCosta’s Hedda, which will soon hit select theaters and debut on Prime Video after premiering at TIFF. She stars in Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut The Chronology of Water, which is also coming up for release, and has also recently been seen in film and TV projects like All of You and Outer Range. She is repped by WME, Entertainment 360, B-Side, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
