Lala Kent and Scheana Shay’s friendship will likely never be the same.
During a recent interview with Page Six, Kent was eager to talk about her return to reality TV, life with two kids and the rebrand of her podcast, but she refused to speak about her once-best friend.
“I think I’ve said everything I need to say on that situation,” Kent, 35, told us when we brought up the “elephant in the room.”
When we asked whether she thought there was a path forward with her former “Vanderpump Rules” co-star, we were shot down once again.
“I’m not even going to discuss her at all,” she said sternly.
Kent and Shay, who also hosts her own podcast, have taken public shots at each other in recent months.
According to Kent, Shay is upset that the former didn’t promote the latter’s memoir, “My Good Side,” in the way she wanted her to.
But according to Shay, the crux of the issue is that after confiding in Kent about her husbandBrock Davies’ past affair, the “Give Them Lala” author allegedly repeated it to someone in their circle.
This is the type of fallout that would be captured by Bravo cameras, but only one of the “Vanderpump Rules” alums joined the show’s spinoff series, “The Valley,” ahead of Season 3.
Perhaps their 4-year-old daughters, who are best friends, can facilitate an off-camera reconciliation.
Despite her outward confidence, Kent is admittedly “nervous” about what fans will think when she appears on “The Valley,” given the feedback she received after her last “Vanderpump Rules” reunion, which aired in 2024.
“It’s been weird being back. It feels like I haven’t done it before. They say that certain things are like riding a bike, but I’m like, ‘This feels very strange.’ I have a lot of anxiety about it,” she confessed.
Kent felt a “shift” among the audience following her impassioned take on “Scandoval,” which led to a fallout with fan-favorite Ariana Madix.
“I used to pride myself on being able to not care about those things and kind of compartmentaliz[e and] separate reality from reality. And that was the first time where it was really hard to do that,” she lamented.
“So coming into this show, I am who I am. And I, for some reason, for the life of me, cannot change certain things. I start having another out-of-body experience where I’m like, ‘Shut the f–k up, La. Shut up!’ And then I leave, and I overthink, and I’m like, ‘Oh, this is difficult.’ I am thinking about what people will think of me.”
During her break from reality TV, Kent — who co-parents daughter Ocean with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett — welcomed a baby girl, Sosa, 1, with the help of a sperm donor.
Though she’s not yet sold on wanting a third child, she’s fairly certain she’d use the same sperm donor again because she still has “a lot of his goods.”
Unconventionally reentering motherhood made Kent reevaluate the name of her podcast, “Give Them Lala,” which represented a different era for her.
“I just didn’t feel like ‘Give Them Lala’ was ringing true to me anymore. I felt like I was still stuck in a time that doesn’t exist anymore,” Kent explained of her decision to go with “Untraditionally Lala.”
Upon examining her current life, Kent said “tradition kept coming into play,” which made her realize “how [her] untraditional life is so very normal to [her].”
