A man who was shot in Norwalk just after midnight Monday ran into a nearby business for aid before being rushed to the hospital, authorities say.
The incident unfolded at 12:03 a.m. in the 14000 block of Pioneer Boulevard, according to an L.A. County Sheriff’s Department official.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the male victim ran into a check cashing business after he was shot by at least three suspects.
He was then taken to a nearby hospital, where his condition as of Monday morning is not known.
The trio of suspects were last seen fleeing the area on Rosecrans Avenue near Pioneer, the sheriff’s department said.
As of 5 a.m. Monday, the suspects remain outstanding. LASD was unable to provide any of their descriptions or further details on the shooting right away.
Footage obtained by KTLA shows deputies centering their investigation on a blue SUV, which was blocked off by crime scene tape. It appeared that the SUV had been shot at, as evidenced by bullet holes in the exterior and numerous casings on the street, but officials did not clarify whether the victim was shot while inside the vehicle.
