Bill Burr’s Luigi Mangione rant exemplifies the nasty, ignorant Hollywood left

Comedian Bill Burr, fresh off of starring in the sure-to-be unbearably preachy “Social Network” sequel, shared his hot take on the cold-blooded murder of former UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson by lunatic heartthrob Luigi Mangione during a recent sit-down with Rolling Stone.

“I mean, if you look at all of this stuff, like the response to the Luigi thing was not to be like, ‘Well, hey, maybe we need to look at what we’re doing if what we’re doing makes some crazy person do this.’ Their response was to take their faces off of the internet and get security,” complained Burr.

“It’s like, you don’t think you need to examine — you know what I mean? It’s like, you’re not the president, you’re just the CEO of a business. Why do you need this level of security? What is it that you’re doing?”

To paraphrase the American film masterpiece “Billy Madison” and speak for those of us living outside of the pampered, morally bankrupt bubble he inhabits: Mr. Burr, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things we have ever heard.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.

We award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

In a further demonstration of his remarkable obliviousness, Burr went on to lament Americans’ failure to recognize that whatever their political stripes, they ultimately belong to the “same team.”

Who, if not the blowhard suggesting that the victim of a politically motivated murder might have had it coming, is stoking that fire?

This cynical two-step is typical of Hollywood liberals like Burr, who repeat red carpet talking points to earn muscle-memory compelled seal claps from their shallow-as-a-puddle peers.

Demonize and smear “them” (Trump voters, business leaders, cops, Jews, etc.), then wonder aloud why we can’t all just get along.

Airhead, heal thyself.

Our would-be philosopher-king’s pontification is all the more galling for its doltishness.

According to his twisted logic, every heinous act committed by a narcissist with an axe to grind ought to compel the rest of us to reflect on the sins of the wronged.

It doesn’t exactly take an LSAT ace to object.

Those of us with some experience in the real world understand that not every evil can be attributed to the misdeeds of some other powerful, malign, vacuous force — be they Republicans, capitalism, the 1%, or Jews (again).

No, some men are just predisposed to evil.

And they’ll seize on any and every excuse to do it.

Excuses of the kind that the unthinking progressive hive mind is all too happy to furnish for them.

What’s more is that the anger at insurance companies and their executives is misplaced.

Despite the common misperception, they aren’t the ones responsible for America’s sky-high health care costs.

It’s health-care providers that charge exorbitant prices for their services — and oftentimes push patients to accept more of them.

It’s just the health insurance companies who have the privilege of telling you about the price later.

And who thus reap the wrath of the public, even though they’re the ones working to lower costs on behalf of their enrollees by pooling risk, vetting claims and negotiating discounts.

One might think that before you snuffed out an innocent life as Mangione did — or celebrated its end as his fan club did — you would know your stuff.

You know, dot your i’s and cross your t’s.

But if you’re Bill Burr, why bother when you can insult the dead, mock those who fear they might be next and still rest easy knowing that your friends in the hills will think you morally superior for doing so.

It’s lazy, it’s contemptible and it’s all too typical of a celebrity class too in love with themselves to notice that they’re the calloused, ignorant villains they imagine their boogeymen to be.
