A group of masked thieves stormed a tech repair store in Reseda and stole tens of thousands of dollars in electronics — but not before the shop owner fought back with pepper spray and a stun gun, turning the break-in into a chaotic confrontation caught on camera.
The burglary happened around 5:48 p.m. on Aug. 25 at an L.A. Tech Repairs shop, according to store employees. Surveillance video shows a person, possibly a teenage boy, holding the door open as three masked suspects force their way inside.
“They would come and break all the glasses, all the showcases — they took over $30,000 worth of merchandise,” the owner said. “These are all coming out of pocket at this point.”
As the suspects smashed display cases and grabbed phones and computers, an employee attempted to stop them using pepper spray and a stun gun. The owner said one of the suspects also sprayed back, filling the store with fumes and forcing everyone to retreat.
In total, investigators said the group made off with around 60 phones and computers.
“Since last year, we’ve had six break-ins,” the owner added. “It’s been very difficult on us.”
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the burglary. No arrests have been announced.
