VISAKHAPATNAM, India (AP) — Australia captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to bat against India in the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup on Sunday.

A sell-out crowd was expected for the highly anticipated clash at the ACA-VDCA Stadium.

India lost its last game against South Africa when the co-hosts went down by three wickets at the same venue.

India is third in the points table with four points from three games.

While fielding an unchanged side from the previous game, India does need its top-order to fire in this important matchup against defending champions Australia.

There is one change for the seven-time champions with left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux coming in for wrist spinner Georgia Wareham.

Australia comes into the game on an 11-match unbeaten streak in Women’s Cricket World Cups, stretching back to the previous edition in New Zealand in 2022. It is currently second in the table, with two wins from three games and one no-result against Sri Lanka.

The pitch should aid spinners again with evening dew potentially helping the chasing side.
