French-Canada Gets ‘24 In 24: Last Chef Standing‘ Remake

24 in 24: Last Chef Standing, the Warner Bros International Television Production (WBITVP) format, is being remade in French-speaking Canada. Quebecor Content-owned TVA has ordered a 12-episode series of the culinary competition, which was originally for Food Network. It will be made by Pixcom and launches in the spring of 2026. Part-culinary marathon, part-social experiment, the format sees 24 chefs facing 24 challenges across 24 relentless hours. In eight rolling three-hour shifts, they are tested on speed, artistry, and adaptability, producing dishes designed to impress the hosts and a lineup of guest judges. “Having only brought 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing to buyers at MIPCOM this time last year, the series has gone from strength to strength, with a second hit season in the USA, and a third on the way,” said André Renaud, WBITVP’s GVP of Format and Finished Sales. The deal, which is the first for the format, was brokered by Harry Gamsu, WBITVP’s US-based VP, Development.

‘Traitors Ireland’ Exec Joins RTÉ Acquisitions Team

The Traitors Ireland commissioner Gráinne McAleer has been named Acquistions Editor at Irish pubcaster RTÉ following a public competition. She will begin her role in January, reporting to and supporting the Director of Acquisitions & Co-Productions, Dermot Horan, in negotiations with major Hollywood studios and international distribution companies across all content genres, including feature films, drama and comedy series, documentaries and children’s programming. She has been a factual commissioning editor at RTÉ for more than 20 years, orderings programs such as Operation Transformation, Room to Improve, DIY SOS, Build Your Own and most recently The Traitors Ireland. Horan said McAleer had a “wealth of knowledge and experience, not just of Irish programming, but of the international marketplace.” He predicted her hire would be key to RTÉ Player, which has been stocking with acquisitions as more audiences switch to streaming-first viewing.

Romesh Ranganathan Fronts Prime Video Game Show

Would you rather fight one giant duck or 1,000 tiny ducks? That’s the sort of question underpinning Prime Video’s latest comedy reality series. The streamer has ordered Would You Rather: Decide to Survive, which will be hosted by comedian and presenter Romesh Ranganathan and launches worldwide in 2026. The format will sees two teams of celebrities compete in comedy challenges based on the concept of ‘Would You Rather.’ Boldprint Studios is producing, with Phil Harris, Lou Hutchinson and Georgina Hinds the executive producers “Would You Rather is a game that everyone is familiar with and now we’re making ten people live through these choices, which is both hilarious and slightly cruel – the perfect combination for quality entertainment,” said Ranganathan, who is known on TV for his roles on Sky panel show A League of Their Own, presenting the BBC’s Weakest Link and his comedy travelogs. Tara Erer, Head of North Europe Originals, said: “Would You Rather: Decide to Survive is exactly what we love about UK unscripted originals – big, bold entertainment with just enough chaos and comedy. We’ve taken a classic party game and turned it into a competition, because why not?”
