PHOENIX — A West Valley shopping center is rapidly expanding with the addition of more than a dozen new businesses.

The Canyon Trails Towne Center, which is located near Cotton Lane and Yuma Road in Goodyear, announced last week that nine new retailers and restaurants have opened and another four will open soon.

The center is owned by the Texas-based Santa Cruz Seaside Company, is being developed by Scottsdale Development Partners and is managed by Phoenix-based real estate company Vestar.

“Our team has worked hard to create what has become a trophy project for the city of Goodyear and the West Valley,” Scottsdale Development Partners President David Malin said in a press release.

What businesses have opened at the Canyon Trails Towne Center?

Businesses that have recently opened at the 90-acre shopping center include:

  • Not-so-spooky surprise: 3 new businesses to open in downtown Tempe in October
  • Ground officially broken on Ballpark Village retail development in Goodyear
  • Costco, 2 hotels confirmed occupants for mixed-use development near TSMC
  • Salt & Straw opening 2nd Arizona ice cream shop in Tempe
  • Burlington
  • Ulta
  • Rack Room Shoes
  • O’Reilly Auto Parts
  • America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses
  • Ono Hawaiian BBQ
  • Einstein’s Bagels
  • Baskin Robbins
  • Hello Sugar.

The four businesses that have signed leases, but have yet to open are:

  • Cox Communications
  • Angry Chickz
  • AT&T
  • MVB Title & Registration.

“Sales at the center continue to grow,” Malin said. “Our retailers’ sales volumes are in the top 10% of their stores in the Phoenix metropolitan market and there is no slowing down.”

These businesses will occupy 60,718 (12.33%) of Canyon Trails’ 492,344 square feet of available space, the center said.

The center also announced the completion of a luxury apartment complex, which encompasses 13 acres of the north side of the complex and includes 284 units.

About 65% of the units have been leased, the center said.

Additionally, the center is speaking with several hotel companies about operating a limited-service or extended-stay hotel, which would be located northeast of where the Chase Bank and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers are located.

Permits have also been approved by the city of Goodyear for a 15,000-square-foot building that will hold multiple businesses, the center added. Once construction begins on that building, it is expected to be complete in eight months.

What other businesses can I find at Canyon Trails Towne Center?

Canyon Trails Towne Center is anchored by a Super Target, Ross, PetSmart, Michael’s and Pottery Barn Outlet.

The store directory currently includes 16 restaurants, 10 stores and three workout facilities.

The full store directory can be found on the Canyon Trails Towne Center website.
