President Trump has returned to TikTok, telling his Gen-Z followers that they “owe me big” for saving their favorite social media platform.

“To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big,” Trump said in a post on Monday — breaking his nearly yearlong hiatus from the app.

“Now, you’re looking at me in the Oval Office, and someday one of you are gonna be sitting right at this desk, and you’re gonna be doing a great job also.”

Vice President JD Vance also relaunched his account just weeks after the administration fought to give majority control of TikTok to a group of American investors and keep the app available to US users.

“Glad to be back on TikTok thanks to President Trump!” Vance said in his own video. “Follow along here for more updates from the White House, and maybe even some sombrero memes.”

The return comes after Trump signed an executive order supporting a proposed deal that would put the popular social video platform under US ownership.

Much is still unknown about the actual deal that’s in the works but the new venture would license the famed ByteDance-owned algorithm that currently keeps TikTok users engaged.

Tech giant Oracle, a confirmed partner in the US investment consortium that would own the app, would audit the copy of the algorithm and monitor it for security purposes, according to proposed framework on the deal.

Under the new agreement, China will not be able to access US user data.
