One of Disneyland’s original attractions is getting a touch of new magic, as the park prepares to add a scene from “Tangled” to the Storybook Land Canal Boats in Fantasyland.
A miniature version of Rapunzel’s tower will be added to the attraction, standing tall above a grassy area filled with flowers and boulders between the Patchwork Quilt and Toad Hall scenes.
Mini wanted posters for Flynn Rider will be spotted along the stone wall, and similar to the movie, none of the posters will accurately depict his nose.
During the day, guests aboard the boat ride will hear an instrumental arrangement of “When Will My Life Begin?” playing from the tower. At dusk, the music shifts to “I See the Light.”
Walt Disney had a lifelong fascination with miniatures, which inspired the creation of Storybook Land Canal Boats. The attraction originally opened on Disneyland’s first day in 1955 as Canal Boats of the World, but later reopened as the Storybook Land Canal Boats in 1956.
Today, cast members guide guests through the storybook landscapes, pointing out miniature landmarks from classics such as “Cinderella,” “Pinocchio,” and “The Little Mermaid.”
In recent years, the attraction has expanded to feature scenes from “Aladdin,” “Frozen,” and other beloved films.
