Trump mocks Al Sharpton with unflattering snap and calls for probe into his ‘lowest rated’ show

President Trump has taunted Rev. Al Sharpton by posting an old and unflattering photo of him — as he called for an investigation into how he still has a TV show despite it being the “lowest rated” in history.

Trump took aim at Sharpton in a lengthy Truth Social rant late Sunday as he urged the Federal Communications Commission to take away broadcast licenses from both NBC and ABC.

The photo, which was taken around 1988, captured a then-plump Sharpton in a striking red shirt, with suspenders and a massive gold pendant.

“I knew Al Sharpton for many years, not that it matters, but he was a major ‘TRUMP’ fan. He’d ask me to go to his fake Rallies all the time, because I brought BIG Crowds, and he couldn’t get anybody to come without me,” Trump said.

The president added that the reverend’s reputation suffered a huge blow after he got involved in the 1987 Tawana Brawley rape hoax where a 15-year-old black girl falsely accused four white men of raping her.

“Then he got to know Brian Roberts, Chairman of Fake News NBC, who gave him what would become one of the Lowest Rated Shows in Television History. Roberts is afraid to take him off because it wouldn’t be ‘Politically Correct’,” Trump said as he mixed up the networks.

“This is just one of the many reasons that the Federal Communications Commission should look into the license of NBC, which shows almost exclusively positive Democrat content. Likewise, ABC Fake News — About the same thing, 97% negative to Republicans!”

Sharpton’s show — “PoliticsNation” — is broadcast on MSNBC.

Trump, meanwhile, has previously suggested that the government should strip broadcast licenses from a host of news networks — especially if they stream negative views about him.
