Costco, 2 hotels confirmed occupants for mixed-use development near TSMC
The mixed-use development surrounding TSMC in north Phoenix is starting to take shape with new agreements in place for a Costco store and new hotels.
Mack Halo Vista LLC announced Courtyard Marriott and Residence Inn will join Costco and an additional auto mall at Halo Vista, a 2,300-acre, mixed-used development located near the junction at Interstate 17 and Dove Valley Road.
Arizona gas prices could spike by up to 95 cents after California refinery fire, expert says
A massive fire at a Southern California oil refinery is bad news for Arizona drivers, who could see gas prices soar well over $4 per gallon.
The question is, how much will Arizona gas prices go up? Matt McClean, a petroleum analyst from GasBuddy, said the Chevron refinery disaster in the Los Angeles suburb of El Segundo will definitely impact Grand Canyon State consumers.
“We do have a preliminary guess, and because no one, including the refinery owner, knows the extent of the damage right now, that’s why we’re calling it a guess,” McClean told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show on Friday.
North Scottsdale home sells for $14 million, sets neighborhood record
A home in the north Scottsdale neighborhood of Desert Mountain sold for a record-breaking $14 million, according to a release from Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty.
The price of the five-bedroom, 11,272-square-foot home is a record for the Desert Mountain neighborhood.
“This is an incredible area tucked away in north Scottsdale and we have been honored with representing multiple homes in the area,” Global Real Estate Advisor Tami Henderson said in the release.
Freeway closes in West Valley overnight due to fatal collision
Southbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway was closed overnight in the West Valley due to a fatal collision, authorities said.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred on the Loop 101 just north of Bell Road around 12:20 a.m.
Police described the incident as a two-vehicle collision and said that there was a fatality, although they didn’t provide any information on the person who died.
DNA evidence, witness statements used to connect suspect to Arizona campsite murders
Detectives used DNA evidence and witness statements to connect a man arrested Thursday to the murders of two teens at an Arizona campsite on Mount Ord earlier this year, according to officials and court documents.
Thomas Henry Brown, 31, was booked into jail on two counts of first-degree murder, with his bond set at $2 million, after a five-month investigation into the high-profile slayings of 18-year-old Pandora Kjolsrud and 17-year-old Evan Clark.
