Police took one person into custody after a car crashed into a North Hollywood residence on Sunday morning and injured two people, possibly including the detainee, officials said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it dispatched crews to a 9:02 a.m. call reporting a vehicle into a building in the area of Oxnard Avenue and Klump Street.

Upon arrival, crews found two people suffering from minor, non-life-threatening injuries. They treated the patients at the scene before paramedics transported them each to a local area hospital, according to LAFD. Authorities did not identify either patient.

The L.A. Police Department said officers also responded and took one person into custody, but told KTLA it was unclear whether they arrested or temporarily detained the subject.

Authorities did not identify the detainee or say if he was among those injured. However, footage from the scene showed LAFD personnel treating a man who was handcuffed on the sidewalk in front of the wreckage.

Through videos obtained by KTLA, it appears a black sedan somehow veered from the roadway, slammed through a fence and crashed into the lower level of a multi-story residential complex or house.

The videos also showed a crowd of first responders, onlookers and at least one law enforcement helicopter surrounding the aftermath. LAFD said it notified building safety authorities, and that the extent of damage to the building was initially unknown.

As of 3 p.m., the LAPD said the cause of the crash was under investigation, and the degree of the patients’ injuries was not disclosed.

Luis Zuniga contributed to this report.
