It’s the road to City Haul.

A Democratic candidate for City Council in Queens has literally taken his campaign on the road — moving it into a U-Haul truck after the lease expired on his Maspeth office.

Phil Wong, the soon-to-be-former budget director to term-limited Councilman Bob Holden (D-Maspeth), had to pack up the contents of his 69th Street office Tuesday.

“I should be able to secure a space [soon], but I will need time to turn on the WiFi, Con Ed, etc.,” Wong vowed to The Post.

“The landlord ended the lease. I got a one-line email last Friday telling me to vacate by the morning of October 1,” he said. But Wong acknowledged was on a month-to-month lease for the $2,700-per-month space.

Wong sent out an email blast Monday night, saying he’d been “evicted,” and asking supporters for additional campaign donations to help secure a new office.

Christina Cotoia, a rep for the landlord, told The Post the pol had plenty of notice, and was not “abruptly evicted.”

“He is trying to capitalize on lies and boost his campaign,” said Cotoia, adding the month-to-month lease Wong signed in May ended in August. “People are now threatening the landlord and the building, and it’s disgusting and terrible.”

The Post was provided with a copy of Wong’s lease, and found it does indicate he would have to move out if a permanent tenant were to come along — as one did last month.

“He was paying far below market value, but the agreement was, he is a temporary tenant and if the landlord needed to rent the space to a permanent tenant, he had to leave,” Cotoia said. “This man is running for City Council and he’s spreading lies and slandering his landlord’s character.”

Wong was planning to move into a new office — for $5,000 a month — as of Friday.

Holden decided not to endorse any of the candidates seeking his term-limited seat, as Alicia Vaichunas, the Republican running against Wong, has served as his longtime deputy chief of staff.
