Within the span of Doc‘s first season, Scott Wolf‘s Dr. Richard Miller threaded the needle between a cold-blooded villain who would stop at nothing to protect his job — including destroying Amy (Molly Parker) — and a sympathetic father who cares deeply for his sick son.
After losing his job as Chief of Internal Medicine at the Westside Hospital in the Season 1 finale, Miller will be back, with Wolf set to reprise his role in a multi-episode guest arc on the Fox medical drama later this season.
Additionally, Wolf will direct an upcoming Doc episode airing in early 2026.
“We always knew when Richard got fired that would never be the last of him,” Doc co-showrunners/executive producers Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg said, teasing what is to come. “But no one expected him to come back to Westside like this — least of all Amy.”
Doc Season 2 stars Parker (Dr. Amy Larsen), Omar Metwally (Dr. Michael Hamda), Amirah Vann (Dr. Gina Walker), Jon Ecker (Dr. Jake Heller), Anya Banerjee (Dr. Sonya Maitra), Patrick Walker (Dr. Theodore “TJ” Coleman), and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim (Katie Hamda), with Felicity Huffman (Dr. Joan Ridley) joining the cast. Emma Pfizer Price (Hannah) recurs.
Wolf, best known for his starring role on Fox’s Party of Five, appeared in all 10 episodes of Doc‘s first season. The series, from Sony Pictures TV and Fox Entertainment, has been renewed for a 22-episode second season.
He is repped by Innovative Artists and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.
