My guest and I cover two topics on the AZ Political Podcast this week: the indictment of former FBI director James Comey and Arizona’s water future.
As disparate as those two topics would seem to be, Terry Goddard is the perfect guy to tackle them both.
He served two terms as the state’s top law enforcement officer — he was Arizona’s attorney general from 2003 to 2010 — and he’s currently the president of the Central Arizona Project (CAP) board.
Terry Goddard discusses Colorado River water sharing negotiations on AZ Political Podcast
The CAP is a 330-mile system of canals, aqueducts and pipelines that supply Colorado River water to Arizona’s most populated regions.
Arizona is hoping to get a larger slice of the Colorado River’s water as the state sits down to negotiate with six other states for that precious resource.
Surprisingly, California is not our biggest rival in this water fight. They’re actually more of an ally. You’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out which state is trying to “hose” Arizona.
Oh — and you’ll have to listen to find out if Terry Goddard approves of James Comey going on trial or if he thinks he’s getting hosed by the Trump Administration.
