EXCLUSIVE: Viaplay Content Distribution is headed to MIPCOM Cannes with 20 original shows from streamer SkyShowtime in its catalog.
The international sales division of Stockholm-based Viaplay Group has picked up distribution rights to a a slate of dramas, thrillers, comedies and documentaries.
These include small town scandal drama Beartown from Sweden, Seasons 1 and 2 of high-concept toime-travel series Beforeigners from Norway, Series Mania winner Kamikaze from Denmark, comedy-drama Still Here from Poland, Danis Tanović’s character-driven thriller Success from Croatia and Cold War spy drama The Informant from Hungary.
Also included are German-Romanian cyber-crime thriller Hackerville, Velvet Revolution drama The Sleepers from Czech Republic, Swedish friendship dramedy Lust, political drama-comedy The Winner from Slovakia, darkly comic heist series Tuff Money from Romania and Norwegian drama comedy-drama Welcome to Utmark. From Spain are four more series: Isabel Coixet’s romantic drama Foodie Love, queer identity comedy-drama Dafne and the Rest, a local adaptation of Australian comedy-crime caper No Activity and friendship comedy One Way of Another.
On the doc front comes Swedish true-crime docuseries Pray, Obey, Kill and Czech father-daughter travelog Czech It Out.

SkyShowtime, the Comcast and Paramount-owned subscription streamer, has emerged as a key commissioner in Europe, especially in countries in the east of the continent, who have seen several international buyers exit the market amid tough global economic conditions.
We’ve revealed several new commission from the service in recent months, including the revival of cult Polish crime drama Glina earlier this month.
