Jeremy Renner has hopes for a second season of Hawkeye as he feels there’s much more to explore.

Following the snowploy accident in 2023 that left him with 38 broken bones, the future of the Marvel Studios series is unclear.

During an appearance at the 2025 Florida Supercon, Renner reflected on his time on the 2021 Disney+ series and if he would want to reprise his role.

“It was great to dive more into the character a bit, in a world that’s more grounded,” he said (via Popverse). “To me, it was a lot more fun to do and more to explore for the character, which is nice. I always wanted to do more of that stuff, and there’s the incident that happened, and I have to get my body in shape to be able to sling arrows again and dive around and do all that stuff, but I’ll get there. I’m doing good.”

Renner is hopeful that a second season of Hawkeye is possible once he is fully recovered saying, “I’ll always dance with Marvel. I’ll always dance with them for sure when appropriate, when it’s rocking,” adding, “I’m happy to do season two of Hawkeye. I love that character. I think there’s so much for us to do.”

“We waded through many discussions about the shape of that season,” he continued. “It’s getting my body right and getting everything right for that. The timing of that will come, and if there’s still a need, want, and desire for it, then yeah.”

Earlier this year, Renner opened up about discussions for Hawkeye Season 2 and the “insult offer” he received, which Disney has since then disputed without offering specifics.

“They asked me to do Season 2, and they offered me half the money. I’m like, ‘Well, it’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount,’” Renner said on High Performance.

Renner suggested that his salary was slashed in half due to his near-fatal accident in 2023.

“I’m like, ‘I’m sorry. Why did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season?’” he continued. “This is not Marvel. This isn’t not really Disney, it’s just the penny pinchers — the accountants.”

The actor told them “to go fly a kite” following the “insult offer,” adding, “So, we didn’t see eye to eye on that, sadly. I still love the character, I’d still love to do it but I had to defend myself.”

Renner noted that he didn’t ask for more money for the second season of Hawkeye and only wanted them to match what they paid him for the first season.

“It was a little disheartening that it didn’t happen, but that’s fine. I’m happy to let that go because my body’s probably thanking me, time and time again, that I’m not doing it right now. But, we’ll see,” he said.
