In a bold collaboration that pushes the boundaries of design, Jacob & Co. and Costa Design Studio have unveiled The Godfather Sculpture Table, an interior masterpiece inspired by the iconic Opera Godfather timepiece. Brought to life by visionary designer Pedro Costa, this creation transforms the spirit of a collector’s watch into an extraordinary, functional artwork.
The table, worth $300,000 USD is a monumental feat of craftsmanship. It is composed of over 350 individually designed parts and hand-assembled into seven substructures, all crafted from stainless steel, glass, leather, and aluminum. The 170-kg, 135 x 80 x 76 cm creation is a true union of cinema, watchmaking, and design.
At its core, the table features a Swiss and German mechanical movement with a 7-day power reserve, a clear homage to its horological origins. As with the timepiece that inspired it, the table includes intricate music boxes that play the legendary Godfather theme by Nino Rota. This blend of artistry and engineering is further seen in the scaled-up details from the watch, including violin- and piano-shaped elements and a tri-axial tourbillon.
Limited to just 20 pieces worldwide, the Godfather Sculpture Table is the ultimate expression of creative collaboration. It’s a functional piece of art that allows Jacob & Co.’s storytelling to meet Costa Design’s sculptural mastery.
