HUNTR/X is making history with “Golden,” the viral hit from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, as it holds the top spot of Billboard Hot 100 for a sixth consecutive week. This achievement makes it the longest-leading No. 1 soundtrack song of the decade.
“Golden” has surpassed the “Encanto” ensemble anthem, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” which topped the chart for five weeks in 2022. The only soundtrack song with a longer run since 2015 was Wiz Khalifa‘s ”See You Again,” featuring Charlie Puth, from “Fast & Furious 7,” which held the No. 1 spot for 12 weeks.
Performed by the singing trio of EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI, “Golden” marked HUNTR/X as the first K-pop-associated female group ever to top the Hot 100 after its release in August. Furthermore, it’s the only animated group to hold No. 1 this long in the chart’s 67-year history. The rest of the records in the soundtrack also achieved remarkable results, with three tracks landing in the Hot 100 top 10 simultaneously for a fifth week, including Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” at No. 5, “Your Idol” at No. 6, and HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” at No. 8.
