PHOENIX — An 11-year-old boy in western Arizona was arrested after allegedly being found with a marijuana vaping device and two weapons while at school, authorities announced Monday.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), deputies were called to Cerbat Elementary School, near Bank Street and Jagerson Avenue in Kingman, around 9:20 a.m. Monday due to a student having illegal items on the school’s property.
Deputies met with staff members, who said they found a pocketknife, a marijuana vaping device and a pellet gun, which was made to look like a real gun, in a student’s backpack.

The staff members told the deputies they were alerted about the items by other students who said the boy had shown them the vaping device and weapons.
The boy was then taken out of his classroom by school officials, who then searched his backpack and found the items.
The boy had not made any threats to the school, according to MCSO.
He was booked into the Mohave County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of disruption of an educational institution and minor in possession of marijuana.
No other details were released and the investigation is still underway.
