EXCLUSIVE: Actor Taye Diggs has signed with IAG for representation across the board.
A Broadway veteran who originated the role of Benny in Rent, the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical from Jonathan Larson, Diggs is also known for his lead role of Harper Stewart in the Best Man comedy franchise from IAG client Malcolm D. Lee, where he stars alongside IAG clients Regina Hall, Terrence Howard and Harold Perrineau, as well as Morris Chestnut and Sanaa Lathan. In addition to the original 1999 film, released by Universal, he’s been seen in 2013’s The Best Man Holiday, as well as the recent limited series The Best Man: The Final Chapters at Peacock.
Most recently seen playing the role of Coach Billy Baker in The CW’s drama, All American, Diggs became a recognizable leading man with his breakout role opposite Angela Bassett in How Stella Got Her Groove Back. He went on to star in films like The Wood and Brown Sugar, as well as the Oscar winner Chicago and the sci-fi action thriller Equilibrium.
Diggs’ stage career has also included performances in Wicked and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Currently playing The Duke of Monroth in Moulin Rough! The Musical, he continues to be repped by Matthew Slater Law Offices.
