On Sunday evening, Irish designer Simone Rocha returned to London Fashion Week with another breathtaking runway performance. This time, she staged her show at the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London. Rocha’s choice of historic venues never fails to impress, and her angelic Spring/Summer 2026 collection swept through the hallowed halls of the nearly 300-year-old building.
For SS26, Rocha explored the uneasy emotions of early adolescence, drawing inspiration from Justine Kurland’s 2020 photography book Girl Pictures and My Dress Rehearsal: or How Mrs. Clarke Taught Me How to Sew by Maureen Freely. Channeling the awkward transition into adulthood against the grandeur of ballroom settings, the pastel-hued collection was both youthful and subtly uneasy.
Models glided down the runway in structured organza skirts and shimmering silver dresses, while others clutched silk pillows or folded their arms in discomfort. Plastic capes shielded bow-trimmed coats, and extravagant ballgowns were casually secured with printed long-sleeve tops. Floral appliqués bloomed across ruffled shirting and bedazzled hot pants, while Rocha unveiled another collaboration with Crocs. Romantic platform ballerinas and gorp-coded trailbreak hybrids elevated the collection, finished with her signature pearlescent embellishments set to release later this year.
