HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Orion Amphitheater hosted the fourth annual CulturA Festival on Sunday, celebrating and educating during Hispanic Heritage Month.

Local vendors representing a variety of Hispanic cultures attended the festival, offering attendees the opportunity to try different foods and view several traditional pieces that celebrated Hispanic culture.

The event also featured live music, a dancing stage, and a “wellness village” showcasing local health resources, sponsored by Huntsville Hospital.

Melissa Rodriguez, who helped organize the event, said CulturA Festival is a great opportunity for people to learn about different Hispanic cultures, while calling on those of Hispanic descent to celebrate their own.

“It’s important that we’re able to share our culture and celebrate our cultures, you know, from whatever country people have come to the United States from,” Rodriguez said. “And, of course, Huntsville is a welcoming city, and we’re always celebrating diversity here.”

Hispanic Heritage Month is in full swing and lasts until Oct. 15.
