Residents of Spencer’s Crossing woke up on the morning of Sept. 12 to an unsettling sight: multiple vehicles in their quiet neighborhood had their tires slashed. The destruction left car owners stunned and raised alarms across the community.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Southwest Station responded to the reports at around 9:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they confirmed the vandalism and launched an investigation. Detectives from the Southwest Investigation Bureau soon identified Christopher Karl Ng, a 46-year-old Murrieta resident, as the suspect.

Investigators served a search warrant at Ng’s home, recovering evidence linking him to the acts. He was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on multiple counts of felony vandalism, as well as a weapon-related charge. Following a bail enhancement, Ng’s bail was set at $200,000.

Authorities said they believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to contact Investigator Gasparini at the Southwest Sheriff Station at (951) 696-3000 or Riverside County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 951-776-1099.

The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time. For residents of Spencer’s Crossing, the morning’s damage served as a stark reminder of how quickly a quiet street can be upended.
