PHOENIX — The Sumo + Sushi tour is coming to Arizona for the first time and it will pack out Chandler’s Rawhide Event Center throughout Halloween weekend.

Arizonans will have the opportunity to learn the rules and rich history of the Japanese sport and taste authentic sushi from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

There will be more than 12 sumo exhibitions for guests to watch throughout the event and the participating wrestlers will also hold a question and answer session.

The event center is located at 5244 S. 48th Street in Chandler.

While the first two days of the cultural event are for those 21 and older, the final day of food and exhibitions is for all ages to enjoy.

All sushi provided at the event will be made by Valley chefs, and there will also be a selection of beers, Japanese sake and other spirits.

A preview of the sushi lineup can be found online, and it features salmon sashimi, sweet shrimp, tuna nigiri and cucumber and seaweed salad.
