Who will win at the Emmys 2025? Well, when it comes to this particular awards show, nobody has ever gone broke from betting on a front-runner. Dark horses can certainly surge at the Emmys, as seen last year when Hacks unexpectedly overtook The Bear for best comedy. But generally speaking, momentum matters more.

Therefore, we predict that the Emmy winners 2025 can be foretold by looking at which show in each genre notched the most total nominations. (With one notable exception—but we’ll get to that.) Severance, Apple TV+’s innovative workplace drama, leads the pack at the show overall, having earned 27 total nominations. (It already won six of those awards at the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend, including one for guest actress Merritt Wever.) It feels like a lock for outstanding drama—unless there’s a last-minute push for The Pitt, an HBO Max series with the soul of an old-fashioned network procedural.

In comedy this year, there’s no show more nominated than The Studio, another Apple production that’s particularly beloved by entertainment professionals—just the sort of people Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are lovingly skewering. It received 23 nominations in total, already won nine awards at the Creative Arts Emmys, and should win in several major categories as well, potentially allowing Rogen more than one opportunity to give the kind of acceptance speech this very show so memorably spoofed in its Golden Globes episode.

And finally, the most nominated limited series this year is The Penguin, which netted 24 nods. But though that show already took home eight Creative Arts prizes, it seems more likely that the big winner at Sunday’s ceremony will be Adolescence, which took Netflix by storm this winter. That series racked up 13 total Emmy nods, winning three trophies already at the Creative Arts awards. Though upsets can happen, Adolescence feels like this year’s answer to Baby Reindeer—an unstoppable force from across the pond destined to hoover up all awards in its path.

But we won’t know for certain until all the categories are announced. Check below for a full list of winners, updated live as they’re revealed on CBS and Paramount+ at the Emmy Awards.
