Police in Georgia have launched a manhunt for an armed and dangerous suspect who allegedly shot a cop in the throat — leaving him in critical condition, according to reports.

Timothy Craig Ramsey, 26, is accused of shooting McCaysville Police Captain Brantley Worley in the throat in the small town Friday, as the officer responded to a 911, WTOC reported.

Details about their interaction have not been released by officials.

Worley suffered a broken neck, has brain bleeding and fluid in his lungs, according to WTOC. He was airlifted to a hospital in nearby Chattanooga, Tenn., where he remains in the intensive care unit, the report stated.

Ramsey is no stranger to police and has a bad reputation amongst those familiar with him in the Peach State, reports said.

The armed and dangerous suspect was known to be  “aggressive and violent,” one neighbor told Atlanta First News.

Another said Ramsey once shot out his windows believing he had killed a cat, that report stated.

Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp took to social media to share his sympathy for Cpt. Worley.

“Marty, the girls, and I are asking all Georgians to join us in praying for this officer who was shot in the line of duty, as well as all law enforcement who face this kind of danger on a regular basis to protect their communities,” the governor wrote on X.
