Ego Nwodim is one of the Saturday Night Live stars not returning for Season 51 of the NBC late-night sketch show.
Although it was believed that the cast for SNL 51 had been set, Nwodim just confirmed she would not be returning this fall.
Being one of the most popular cast members of the sketch show has many people reacting to the news like former SNL cast member Cecily Strong.
“I just texted you, but I also want to say it loud and proud here: it was an honor and total joy to get to work with you,” Strong posted on Instagram. “One of the best to ever do it.”
Current Saturday Night Live cast member Chloe Fineman also replied saying, “One of the best to ever do it my friend. GOAT.”

Nwodim is leaving SNL after seven seasons and follows other cast members who are also exiting like Heidi Gardner (after eight seasons), Michal Longfellow (after three seasons), Devon Walker (after three seasons), Emil Wakim (after one season), and John Higgins, who was part of the Please Don’t Destroy troupe that joined the late-night show in 2021.

Other comedians who reacted to Nwodim’s exit included Michelle Buteau who wrote, “Can’t wait to see what’s next.”
Insecure alum and stand-up comedian Yvonne Orji replied, “7 is the number of completion. Job well done.”
Vanessa Williams added, “What???? Boo.”
Former Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi said, “You’ve given so many of us so much laughter and a master class in how it’s done. Take a bow sis!!”
Bravo-holic and former Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay said, “What?!?! I can’t wait to see what you do next! Always rooting for you.”
Comedian Amber Ruffin also said, “Congratulations! As long as I can still watch you perform, I’m good!”
