Analyst astounded as red state voters rebel against Trump: ‘It is everywhere’

One political analyst was astounded Sunday while discussing President Donald Trump’s efforts to ignore the crisis driving his demise.

Terry Moran, a former ABC journalist, discussed a recent trip he made to Iowa on a new episode of “The Daily Beast Podcast” with host Joanna Coles. He noted that Trump’s insistence that the cost-of-living crisismany Americans are reeling from is a “hoax” is not only driving typical Republican voters away from Trump, but also causing young voters to rethink their support for Republicans, which could be a significant issue for the party in the 2026 midterms.

“The cost of living is everywhere in the country, especially with farmers,” Moran said. “They’re now going to get it even worse given the fact that there’s no end in sight, that Iran is emboldened, and that the price of diesel continually goes up. The administration is trying to blame Ukraine for its war with Russia, which has damaged Russia’s energy exports.”

Moran noted that the issues have caused staunch Republican voters like Iowa’s farmers to abandon Trump.

“They understood why diesel is as high as it is, why fertilizer is as high as it is, why it’s gonna mean a loss for them, you know, not a total loss, but they’re gonna get creamed by the Trump inflation,” Moran said.

The cost-of-living crisis has also caused young voters to shed their MAGA gear ahead of the midterms.

“People in all walks of life are getting it bad. Talk to young people; they have no possibility of buying a home or even remaining in Iowa, which has become an expensive state for a lot of young people,” Moran said. “And that combination has made people deeply frustrated and angry at Trump.”
