Dolphins Shut Down Trade Rumors Regarding Tyreek Hill, Per Report

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill isn’t going anywhere — at least for now.

Just days after speculation came out regarding a possible trade and which teams may be interested in acquiring him, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has put those rumors to bed for the time being.

“Trade rumors around Tyreek Hill will be worth watching,” wrote Fowler. “My understanding is that Miami received calls on Hill but did not show interest in trading him. If the losing persists, perhaps those phone lines open.”

It’s understandable that the Dolphins are trying to silence the rumors. For all intents and purposes, it was one bad week. Almost every team in the league could go out and have as poor of a performance as Miami did against the Indianapolis Colts.

The problem, however, is trying to rebound from it. In a game where the Dolphins looked second best in every category, head coach Mike McDaniel has a challenge of keeping his players bought in to his philosophy. Fowler also noted Miami’s roster is also lacking talent in major areas.

“Miami seems as if it’s much better than what it showed, but a few themes emerged when asking people around the league their impressions of the Dolphins,” added Fowler. “There are concerns about the roster’s overall talent. The Dolphins moved on from several key players perceived as bad fits, which can improve a locker room. But they relinquished proven talent and replaced it with more cost-effective options that do not appear as capable in some cases.”

The Dolphins know things must turn around starting Sunday against the New England Patriots. While a win would certainly lift some spirits, the bare minimum is to go out and be a lot more competitive than they were in Week 1.
