- It features a lightweight titanium case and a warm, textured salmon-colored dial that emphasizes classical proportions

The Armoury and Ressence have partnered to introduce the TYPE 9 ARM “Scattered Sun,” a fresh interpretation of the independent watchmaker’s most compact, classically proportioned timepiece.
The 39mm polished Grade 5 titanium case – light enough to weigh just 39 grams – encases a warm salmon-colored dial treated with PVD and sandblasted for a fine, tactile finish. A custom fluted bezel doubles as the functional minute track and frames Ressence’s patented Orbital Convex System display, while a chocolate suede strap with exposed stitching pays homage to The Armoury’s menswear roots.
Ressence founder Benoît Mintiens explains that The Armoury “pushed us to consider proportions and details we would never have explored alone — smaller scale, more classical decoration, and colours associated with traditional watchmaking,” even as “the display, the form, and the philosophy remain pure Ressence.” Echoing that ethos, The Armoury co-founder Mark Cho adds that his tailoring background inspired a watch “that could live with a suit,” emphasizing scale, warmth, texture and subtle elegance in the final design.
Produced in a strictly limited run of 20 pieces, the TYPE 9 ARM “Scattered Sun” is available exclusively through The Armoury’s website as well as its Hong Kong and New York boutiques, retailing at $19,000 USD/ $148,200 HKD.
